How Agentele Differs From Other AI Apps
There is no shortage of AI apps, and most of them are good at something real. This page is about categories rather than brand names — what each kind of app is genuinely for, where Agentele sits among them, and the cases where you should pick something else.

Single-assistant apps
One assistant, general purpose, extremely capable, and the model of interaction is that you open it. That is the right shape for the majority of work: research, drafting, code, analysis, anything where you have a question and want the best possible answer to it. If that is what you need, one of those is almost certainly a better tool than this one, and we are not competing for that job.
The limit is structural rather than a shortfall in quality. A single assistant is one relationship and one context. Everything that depends on a particular person starting — the 06:45 call from the coach, the nudge from the one who knows which hour you always lose, the tutor that does not wait for you to feel like studying — needs more than one voice, and needs each of them to be yours.
Proactive personal agents — Meta's Muse
In September 2026 Meta launched Muse: one personal agent that takes on a goal, works on it after you close the app, and comes back when something changes or it needs your approval before sending an email or making a purchase. It remembers you across conversations, you can name it and give it an avatar, and at launch it is available in the United States. If you want a capable assistant that executes — books, fills in forms, negotiates — that is what it is built for, and it is not what this is.
The shape is the difference. Muse is one agent, and it reaches out when its work has news. Agentele is a roster: several agents you authored, each with a role, a voice and a memory, who message you at the hours you set, can call you in the app, and can sit at one table together. One is a worker you delegate to. The other is a set of people you keep. Meta itself closed its earlier make-your-own-characters product, AI Studio, in August 2026 — so if what you want is a cast rather than an assistant, that is the gap we are in.
Companion apps
One persona, built around emotional presence, usually with romance or relationship framing at the centre. This is a large and honest category with people who genuinely want it, and it is not what we build. Agentele has no romance features, agents disclose that they are AI, and the app is for adults only. The agents have personalities because a household manager and a devil's advocate should not sound the same — not because the personality is the product.
Reminder and scheduling bots
The closest neighbour, and the comparison worth being precise about. A reminder bot fires a message you wrote, at a time you set. That is dependable and it is often all you need — Agentele does plain reminders too, and setting one does not even require an agent.
The difference is what arrives. A scheduled message from an agent here is written at send time, by something that has a memory of you and a role, so it can ask about the specific thing you said you would do on Tuesday, in a voice that is recognisably one particular agent's. And you can answer it — the message is the start of a conversation, not a notification with nowhere to go.
Automation platforms
Flows, triggers and integrations, and they are enormously more powerful than this for moving data between systems. The cost is that you build them, and the unit you build is a pipeline. Agentele's unit is a person-shaped agent with a job, assembled by describing it in a sentence — see building one without code. There is a bridge in the middle: an agent can call your own https service when the answer lives there. But if what you want is a hundred-step workflow with branching, build it on a platform designed for that and let an agent call it.
Where Agentele is the wrong choice
Written down deliberately, because a comparison page with no losses in it is an advert:
- You want it from an app store. Android is a direct download from our downloads page and iPhone is “add to Home Screen”. There is no App Store or Google Play listing.
- You want video calls. Voice calls are live; photoreal video is not finished and is switched off, so it is not sold and not priced.
- You want a single, do-everything assistant. Several specialists with separate jobs is a deliberate design, and it is more setup than one chat box. If you would rather have one, have one.
- You want a shared team workspace. Agents belong to a person. Round tables are your agents talking to each other, not your colleagues.
What it costs to find out
Nothing, for as long as you like: Free is one agent with a memory and a schedule, 10 messages a day, no card. Every new account also gets 7 days of Plus first, and the enforced limits of all four plans are on pricing. To see it work before deciding anything, the two-minute demo runs with no account and the features page walks a full day.
